Kunafa – Ingredients
For the Kunafa Base
- Kunafa/Kataifi pastry (shredded phyllo dough) – 250g
- Butter or ghee – ½ cup (melted)
For the Cheese Filling
- Mozzarella cheese – 1 cup (shredded)
- Cream cheese – ½ cup
- Fresh cream – 2–3 tbsp (optional, for extra richness)
For the Sugar Syrup (Sheera)
- Sugar – 1 cup
- Water – ½ cup
- Lemon juice – ½ tsp
- Rose water or orange blossom water – 1 tsp (optional for aroma)
For Garnishing
- Crushed pistachios – 2 tbsp
